Select members of the track and field team made their way down to Austin this weekend to compete against some of the state’s best at the Texas Relays. The team returned with several new school records and a victory.
The girls sprint medley relay team of Chiamaka Ukoha, Elizabeth Kerpon, Valerie Osamor and Olivia Wolford won the event, the first relay team to ever win for Coppell at Texas Relays, and set a new school record. The boys sprint medley relay team of Brandon Sanders, Austin Crawford, Landon Massey and Derek Udeh also set a new school record, placing sixth. Senior Daniel Goodenaugh and junior Haley Cook both competed in the pole vault, with Cook setting a new school record. For more information and the team’s remaining schedule, visit the track website.
Congratulations to all of these athletes and good luck to all of CHS’s track and field athletes at the district meet this week.
