Following an embarrassing 8-0 loss to Southlake Carroll on March 22, the Coppell Cowboys baseball team fell to 2-2 in district play. Since then, however, the team has been firing on all cylinders, and they have won five district matchups in a row.
Coppell started the turnaround with a strong 8-3 win over Justin Northwest on March 25, and then made a statement with a 23-5 rout over Keller. They followed those games the next week with a 3-0 win over Keller Central and a 12-4 win over Saginaw.
The Cowboys most recent win came tonight against Denton Guyer by the score of 8-4. They were led by the pitching of Conner Foltyn, who is now 6-0 on the season, and four home runs by the offense, including two by shortstop Adam Toth.
Thanks to the win streak, the Cowboys are 7-2 in district play and have climbed to second place in District 7-5A. Only the Dragons, at 9-0, have a better record.
