With their 63-43 win over Keller on Thursday night, the Coppell Cowboys clinched the District 7-5A championship for the 2010-11 season.
The Cowboys have won 11 of their first 12 games in district play this year and have gone undefeated against 7-5A opponents on the road. After losing their second game of the district season to Southlake Carroll in early Jan., Coppell has won 10 games in row with two more games to play.
The title marks the first district title for Coppell since the 2004-05 season. The Cowboys, now 25-6 overall this season, held off Southlake Carroll (9-3), Keller (7-4) and Justin Northwest (7-5) to clinch the division.
Coppell takes on Saginaw at home tonight in what is the final home game of the year. They will then go to Denton Guyer to play the Wildcats on Tuesday.
