           Today I had a unique opportunity to ask a player from the Plano West volleyball team a few questions about tonight’s big district matchup between Coppell and Southlake.  Rachael Bedell is a middle blocker/outside hitter and is verbally committed to play volleyball at the University of Iowa.

           Plano West has played both Coppell and Southlake this season.  The Wolves beat Southlake in five games earlier this season and lost to Coppell twice, once in three games and most recently in four games.

Andy: Who do you think will win tonight in the Coppell vs. Southlake Carroll game?

Rachael: I think [Coppell] will win.

Andy: Is their any particular reason you think Coppell will win the match tonight?

Rachael: Well [Coppell] has more strong hitters then Southlake and although Southlake has a very good Sophomore Sutton Sunstrom Coppell has more talent overall.

Andy: Whose defense is better between the two teams?

Rachael: Well Coppell has a great libero Shelby Tamura while Southlake also has a big time player in Jamie Harris so that’s a wash. I think I would give the edge to Coppell in their blocking department but Carroll has a strong middle as well so it just depends who plays better the game tonight.
