After four quick innings consisting of zero runs put the game at a standstill, the Denton Braswell baseball team broke the tie with two consecutive runs.
On Tuesday, Braswell defeated Coppell, 3-0, at Coppell ISD Baseball/Softball Complex.
Scoring all three runs in the fifth, the Bengals were able to secure their second consecutive district win on Tuesday with a shutout victory over Coppell.
“It was clear that we were not very productive at the plate,” Coppell coach Armando Garza said. “Braswell getting three runs in the top half showed that they wanted it just a little bit more than we did.”
Braswell junior catcher Clay Fuchs went 2-for-3 with a home run.
Despite the Cowboys’ efforts, they managed a single hit in the seventh inning by Coppell junior outfielder Cason Broom.
On Friday, Coppell plays Braswell at 7 p.m.
