Coppell Community Chorale presented its show “Never one thing” at the Coppell Arts Center on Saturday and Sunday. Introducing its theme “Made by women by women and for women” featuring and celebrating women around the world.
Coppell Community Chorale is a volunteer based, non-profit organization featuring singers for all ages. The chorale’s mission is to promote, sustain and in music for singers of all ages. The chorale presents diverse productions through the year consisting of different ensembles, duets, and solo performances.
The curtains rose up with the opening song “Never one thing” by May Erlewine with chorale soprano and alto ensembles.
“The reason for the chorale is to promote awareness of chorale music, for all ages especially for those who grow up participating in choir but when they are adults they stop,” Coppell Community Chorale treasurer Lori Wilson said. “So we promote chorale music for all ages to be able to join in and have fun.”
The chorale rehearses every Monday night to be able to practice and prepare for upcoming shows which held as open rehearsals
“All the people that choose to come in contribute to the show all want to be here, to have fun and put on a good show,” Chorale President Bethany Henze said.
As the concert soon comes to a close Jon Wilson, chorale’s vice president explains the significance of the theme, closely followed by “Fight Song” by Rachel Platten.
“A labor of love, appreciate the women in your life, ” Wilson said.
The show is to honor and celebrate the women, and showcase the talent of the women in the chorale. Including pieces that are meaningful to the performers and respecting the works of women in different industries.
“The show came in with a lot of perspectives, that all came together where every song means something to each performer,” Henze said.
