Coppell doesn’t usually host a Grammy-winning artist, but that’s precisely what they did this past month.
LeAnn Rimes performed at the Coppell Arts Center on Jan. 24.
“While it is common to have musical acts perform at the Coppell Arts Center, it is not everyday we host a musician of this caliber,” Coppell Arts Center marketing and development manager J.J. Ceniceros said.
Rimes is known for her diverse music, dabbling in country, pop, pop rock and dance pop. She has produced a little under 100 songs.
During the concert, Rimes sang some famous hits including “Blue” and “How Do I Live.” Not only did she sing, but she told stories too. She took time in between songs to interact with the audience, making emotional connections.
“It was a really cool experience to be able to see a multi-Grammy-winning artist in such an intimate space,” Coppell Arts Center production manager Matt Pearce said. “Typically these artists play in much larger venues but LeAnn and her team welcomed the opportunity and gave the audience a night to remember.”
Rimes performed the concerts using mainly acoustics adding ambiance to the homey feeling of the area.
“The performance was powerful and intimate, highlighted by our close knit theater and its stellar acoustics,” Ceniceros said. “Top it off with it being an acoustic show, it made it a very special and unique experience.”
Overall, the event was a success and left a great impact on a number of people.
“The audience seemed really engaged, energetic and excited and the artist and their team left happy,” Ceniceros said.
To Coppell Arts Center, the concert was an indication of their abilities.
“I think it is a big win for everyone at the Coppell Arts Center to show the level of show we’re able to execute,” Pearce said.
