The Coppell boys basketball team (4-6) hosts Richardson Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the CHS Arena.
Following a loss against Mesquite Horn, 48-40, Coppell looks to improve on both the offensive and defensive ends of the court as well as eliminating distractions.
“It is mostly getting us mentally right where we need to be in the last week before district starts, so it is a big week,” Coppell coach Murphy said. “We are eliminating the distractions that make us lose and are focusing on where we have to be mentally and physically.”
Consistency remains a key focus for the Cowboys in the final nondistrict games. The team is determined to perform to the best of its capabilities as it gears up for the district schedule and sets its sights on making a strong playoff run.
“We can definitely play harder with more consistency,” Murphy said, “I think there is more in our tank than what we give.”
As Coppell faces challenges ahead, these remaining nondistrict games offer an opportunity to make necessary adjustments and build momentum heading into district play.
