Despite the 74 degree Texas weather in November, the winter spirit of Coppell High School’s annual Holiday House made it feel like the North Pole.
Project Graduation held its annual Holiday House gift and craft show on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the CHS Commons. With 98 vendors selling products ranging from freshly baked bread, to homemade soy candles to Christmas-themed decor, Holiday House brought in many people from all over Coppell.
The event was hosted by the CHS PTO, and all of the proceeds from their $5 entry fee go towards Project Graduation.
“We had a great amount of vendors selling things from food to clothes,” Holiday House co-chair Nancy Tao said. “All of the proceeds go toward the class of 2025 graduation event at the end of the year.”
Many products sold at Holiday House were specifically curated to be gifts for the holiday season ranging from cookies to jewelry to home decor.
“We mostly sell Christmas decorations and gifts,” Finders Keepers owner Laura Tucker said. “We’ve been here five years. It’s a great show, and we love the customers that come back every year for our food.”
There were also up-and-coming vendors selling goods at Holiday House for the first time, and have created a larger clientele through the event.
“I just love being more ingrained in the community and getting to be around other people in Coppell and meeting customers,” Joy Artisan Bakery owner Sydney Chastain said. “I teach sourdough classes too, so it’s always nice to meet other people that are interested in my bakery.”
Businesses from outside of Coppell also came to join the holiday spirit and gain valuable business experience in the flesh.
“We are always looking for new markets to participate in,” said Hooks and Gems co-owner Sasha Agent-Marrier, also a Carrollton Newman Smith High School International Business Academy facilitator. “We run Hooks and Gems with some of our business students and we’ve been doing really well with business and trying to make it a fun, like part time job.”
Coppell residents cited the warm holiday spirit of the fair and are eager to return in coming years.
“I came a couple of years ago and I found so many great gifts,” Coppell resident Tamara Cook said. “I love to support the high school, and there is always so many great goods.”
