On Wednesday afternoon, the Cozby Library and Community Commons held an informational session, introducing parents and students to the free SAT and ACT resources available with a library card. The event was hosted by Bri Praslicka, child-teen librarian, aiming to offer alternative study resources to students struggling to find physical study resources, which are often checked out of the library.
“The SAT and test prep books are always in high demand,” said Praslicka, going on to emphasize the importance of making students aware of the free, accessible resources made available to them. “I want to fill that gap by showing people that we have databases available instantly with just a library card.”
During the session, Praslicka outlined the two primary online sources linked with the library, tutor.com and LearningExpress, respectively.
These are both resources containing free SAT and ACT prep, with practice tests and score breakdowns to help you improve scores and hitting goals.
These resources, alongside a multitude of others, are located on the Cozby Library website, under Teen Resources and then Homework & Study Resources.
“Take the test more than once,” said Praslicka, advising students on how best to utilize the resources. “Do it more than once just to get rid of that test anxiety.”
