Cowgirls prepare for first district against Hawks

The Coppell volleyball team opens District 5-6A play on Friday against Hebron at the CHS Arena at 6:30 p.m.

After the victory against Grapevine on Tuesday, the team is ready for another tough match and their first look at Hebron this season. Preparations have been hard, but successful for the Cowgirls as they have won their past four matches. 

“We prepare for every game to win it and the girls are on a four match win streak,” Coppell coach Robyn Ross said. “It is nice and they’ve been tough matches.” 

The Cowgirls are preparing to match up against the size of Hebron.

“They are big and we know they have a big front row and so that changes the way that we swing at a ball,” Ross said. “How we run our offense changes, you know, a little bit, and also how we set up our defense.”

Maddy Park is a senior and a second-year staff photographer on The Sidekick Maddy ended up in The Sidekick in an unexpected way. After landing a leg injury in soccer, she thought, why not join the school’s newspaper? From owning Sidekick subscriptions before, she enjoyed reading the newspaper and decided that she wanted to be a part of the process. When she’s not taking photos, she can be seen making art as she has been a part of Coppell High School’s art program for four years. Outside of school, she plays for her club soccer team, DKSC, and enjoys hanging out with her German Shepard and black cat. She loves boba tea and any non-spicy Korean food.
