Purely Rhythmic is an annual show performed by the members of the Coppell High School Percussion program. It gives an opportunity to sixth to 12th grade students who are a part of the percussion program to demonstrate their talent. The show took place at CHS Auditorium on March 2. CHS9 Purely Rhythmic plays Chad Heiny’s “Beacon of Light” during Saturday’s performance in the CHS Auditorium. The annual Purely Rhythmic concert showcases rhythmic pieces performed by students from sixth through 12th grade in Coppell ISD.
Purely Rhythmic: A delicate balance of playful percussion, whimsical fantasy
Coppell junior percussionist Sophie Depew performs “An Ancient Observer” at halftime on Nov. 10. Depew won the Percussive Arts Society Texas Chapter’s Day of Percussion high school individual competition in April for her marimba performance and plans to go into the music field after high school.
