The Coppell fans sit in the stands dressed in cowboy outfits as they cheer loudly during the first inning. The Texas sunset falls behind them as sounds of cowbells and country music can be heard and the smell of popcorn fills the air.

On Friday night, the Coppell baseball team faced off against Denton Guyer in Game 2 of the Class 6A Region I bi-district best-of-3 series at Coppell ISD Baseball/Softball Complex. The Cowboys fell 6-0 to the Wildcats, ending their season.

The Wildcats struck hard during the fifth inning scoring five runs, three of which came back to back.

For the rest of the game, the Cowboys struggled to score against the Wildcats and hit three foul balls in the final innings.

“We came out there pretty confident and ready to go,” senior infielder/pitcher Andrew Schultz said. “They just had one good inning that really hurt us and we couldn’t come back from it.”
