On Tuesday night, the Coppell boys basketball team collected a thrilling 56-55 win over Lewisville.

Coppell junior forward Arhan Lapsiwala’s free throw with 0.5 seconds remaining in the game gave the Cowboys the one-point victory.

“Definitely a lot of pressure,” Lapsiwala said. “We got lucky we got the ball back in the last second, I just got my head up and saw James up top. I didn’t think I’d get there in time so I just shot it and got fouled and those free throws are probably the biggest throws of my life so far. It was a great team win, I’m happy I made them.”

As the first half proceeded, Lewisville had a slow resurgence, closing the gap. By the end of the half Lewisville was leading 28-27.

However, Coppell came back in the second half ready to play and kept the game close with constant scores from both teams.

The Cowboys take on Flower Mound on Jan. 27.
