Yes, that’s right. They lost. To the Deadskins—excuse me, Redskins.
Of course you’re surprised. Everyone is. America’s Team was defeated by a team that went 4-12 last year.
But while many of you will blame a certain number 71 who shall not be named for costing the Cowboys the game, I have to disagree. Yes, his holding penalty cost us the game, but did it really? Maybe Buehler’s missed field goal did it. Or Dez Bryant’s dropped pass.
It isn’t about blame. It’s about the team as a whole. The plain fact is that they don’t look like a team. They look like a group of very talented players that don’t care enough about winning.
All I know is that there are a few key players that did stick out with good performances. Overall the defense did its job and kept Washington to only 13 points. But there’s no escaping the hard truth—the team is going to have to try to prove itself for the rest of the year.
