Despite not living in India, Coppell High School senior Shruti Shukla connects to her Indian heritage by singing Hindustani music. Her connection with music has transformed over the years from taking music lessons to an internal motivation and desire to continue music for the rest of her life. Shukla takes practical and theoretical Hindustani music exams that are administered online by Indian music organization, Pracheen Kala Kendra in Chandigarh, India.
