Homecoming. From the mums to the garters to the dance, Homecoming is an event deeply rooted in tradition. This year, students at CHS decided to break the mold and create their own Homecoming traditions.

Any way you look at it, Homecoming is an expensive event to attend. As the mums getting bigger, the price for participating in the time honored traditions are becoming a bit too costly for seniors Braden Creel and Emily Schultz, who found a unique way to avoid a massive bill for mums and garters.

Both wore small buttons with the words “This is my senior garter” or in Emily’s case mum. It’s a quick, creative, and easy way for students to have a little fun with the time old Homecoming tradition.
