Coppell junior midfielder Jojo Alonzo races for possession on Jan. 24 against Irving MacArthur at Buddy Echols Field. Alonzo is one of 12 Cowgirls awarded a District 6-6A award.

Jojo Alonzo – District 6-6A Midfielder of the Year and 1st Team District 6-6A Midfielder/Forward

“Working so hard to prove myself on the field really paid off in the end because at the end of the season, not only did I feel [Coppell coach Ryan Dunlevy] recognizes my hard work but also the other coaches. It has always been a goal of mine to make this award coming in. I believe I have always had a hardworking personality, and for me to receive this is just an honor. I was not expecting Midfielder of the Year and I was surprised to win this award because I don’t normally play midfield, but I worked hard and tried my best to be a good teammate for my team and do what they needed me to do.”
