Uptown Cheapskate
For my personal style, Uptown Cheapskate is the easiest and most suitable option for me, yet also the most expensive. As a curated thrift store, Uptown Cheapskate gets its stock from customers who resell their own clothing for cash or 25% more in store credit. With brands such as lululemon athletica, Madewell and Zara dominating the racks, it’s not difficult to find a piece you love. Because of this ease of finding clothing, the prices are more expensive than your local Goodwill.
However, clothing items are still discounted from in-store prices, with lululemon tank tops at $20 and an entire rack dedicated to Free People with shirts starting from $7. While this is ideal for me, a 17-year-old girl, there aren’t many options for men, with just one rack of pants along the back – the targeted customer base is definitely teenage to young adult women. Even though finding clothing items is easy, it does take away the rush of adrenaline you get from finding that one hidden gem in the midst of tens of racks of clothing.
