Myungrang Hot Dog

Myungrang Hot Dog sells Korean hot dogs, which resemble corn dogs but have a variety of fillings and outer coatings. Filled with cheese, sausage or a combination of both, these hot dogs are also rolled in sugar with a number of sauces and toppings available. The menu is straightforward, with descriptions of each item clearly listed, and on the cheaper side. Recommended sauce combinations were also listed, minimizing my indecisiveness. The music is loud, making it slightly harder to hold a conversation with those sitting at your table.

I order No. 2 on the menu for $2.99: ½ Mozzarella and ½ Sausage Hotdog, as it is regarded as the “best” on the menu. Taking the restaurant’s suggestion, I used No. 2 on the list of its best combinations of condiments: sweet chili sauce, mustard cheese sauce, ketchup and parmesan. At first, I was skeptical of the combination of chili, sugar, sausage and cheese, but it surprisingly all worked together. In one bite, there are tangy, sweet, savory, crunchy and crispy flavors and textures all in one. The hot mozzarella cheese made for a stringy cheese pull once I bit into it. Overall, the hot dog isis a new take on what I already knew as a corn dog, and I look forward to going back and trying the other menu items.
