Joshua Campbell

I met and became friends with Josh my freshman year. We shared an English class, and ironically were the only kids who enjoyed it. Luckily my senior year I got to be in a Sidekick period with Josh as well, another class that we willingly joined to pursue writing.

Josh is one of the most kind people I have ever met and goes out of his way to make people happy. Just listing things he’s done; gave me a free ticket to Gorillaz and let me stand against the barricade right up front even though it’s his favorite band, hand drew graduation gifts for me and all of my friends, spots me for quarters when I don’t have enough for a Dr Pepper, the list goes on.

I have never heard a single person say a negative thing about him, anyone he meets immediately loves him and only refers to him in high regards. On top of that, Josh is incredibly talented. I have never seen someone with the insane work ethic he has, as well as a creativity that is unmatched.

I am really happy to see that this year he came out of his shell, he can probably tell you about last year when he sat by himself in the corner of the class. In all honesty, though he thinks it’s one sided, he helped me come out of my shell as well. Last year, I didn’t have anyone that I really talked to in class, and knowing I had Josh in my class this year was reassurance that I wouldn’t feel alone going into my second year in the program.

I feel that I must mention it here – Josh always goes along with whatever crazy idea or plan I have, which probably should not be encouraged, but makes me feel better that he plays into the charade. The highlight of this was our escapade to Cowboys Red River at the end of the year, and for someone who hates country music, it made me cackle seeing him rate it a 10/10.
