Srihari Yechangunja

Need a joke? No, really. You know those moments when you need a joke, when you look frantically around the room to find something, anything to reduce the awkwardness? If you have ever paid a visit to D115, you know what the perfect solution is.

Along with his brilliant design skills, executive design/interactive editor Srihari Yechangunja is an absolute comedian. If it can’t be noticed by his hilarious columns, stunning comics or teacher-student joke-off with AP Calculus BC and IB Mathematics teacher Ian VanderSchee, take a few minutes to talk to Yechangunja and you will know exactly what I mean.

Srihari wields his ability as a leader with gratitude. Let me set the scene: the room is amiss, chaos is permeating and urgency emulates from everyone. Naturally, it’s off-the-floor day. But, the stress doesn’t get to Srihari. There he stands, with his all-too-recognizable calm demeanor, willing to help anyone who needs it. Srihari’s selflessness is as plentiful as his respect for fellow staffers, and I continue to appreciate him for it.

I’ve shared my laughs with Srihari, whether it’s trying to catch a plastic bag or listening to him share his love for music. I can say with certainty that life will take him far. And if you, dear reader, ever need a joke, I hope you know exactly where to go.
