Matthew Tindoc: Amiable
Playing piano since age 5, Coppell High School senior percussionist Matthew Tindoc’s love for music and his continuous persistence inspired others to follow their passions. Having played 12 years to being in percussion for six, Tindoc has gained a deep understanding of music and created lifelong bonds.
With hopes to make music accessible to everyone, Tindoc, along with fellow senior percussionists created Note Love, a nonprofit organization that helps students experience music in their life without worrying about their financial situation. As the recruitment director for the organization, Tindoc enrolls new applicants and instructors and pairs them up to conduct the lessons. Tindoc reaches out to other schools and cities to expand the organization and ensure that every student has the opportunity to pursue their passion in music.
Going into the medical path at University of Washington, majoring in biochemistry on the pre-med track, Tindoc thinks music and its details tie into medicine.
“Music is so intricate and has so many details it ties with medicine and its variety of topics,” Tindoc said. “My belief that music can help everyone can transfer over to medicine as they both help people overcome their biggest fears in my perspective.”
