“Honestly, winning the award just meant to me that all my hard work had paid off. I never really imagined playing that much this season or winning this award, so this was a year of shockers. I was just working as hard as I could in practice and in the club everyday, as well as learning from more experienced people on the team, some of which became like mentors. It was a culmination of my efforts but more so the team’s because they honestly made me look better than I am. Really, I owe most of it to them and all their support.”
