“I was actually shocked when I heard, it wasn’t really something I was expecting.  It was very rewarding for all my hard work this season and made me want to work harder. Having not been in the soccer period in the beginning of the year, when I came back to play, I knew I had to work harder than everyone to get my spot back and really push myself to do the best. For it being my first year on varsity and having a break from soccer before this season, it was a really good feeling to get the award and it really made all the long hours and sweat worth it.”
