Former Coppell midfielder Maya Ozymy looks for an open teammate during the scrimmage against Belton on Saturday at Buddy Echols Field on Dec. 14, 2019. Ozymy now plays for Trinity University, where she overcame challenges en route to winning the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference championship game with experience she gained at CHS.

Maya Ozymy – 1st Team All-District 6-6A Midfielder

“Soccer means the absolute world to me. I have loved it my entire life, and I am so thankful for these past three years in this program. The talent in this district is so high and for me to be chosen by the other coaches as one of the top players means a lot to me. I felt very proud of myself and my team when I heard about, not just my district award, but my teammates’ awards. I wouldn’t say this was a focus of mine or the team throughout the year, but I think our hard work definitely paid off and is shown through how many people received awards. This team was so special, and I’m glad that it was recognized by other coaches in the district.”
