The Coppell boys lacrosse team takes on Kingwood at 3 p.m. tomorrow at Coppell Middle School North to open its season.

The Cowboys have put in numerous hours throughout the offseason to get ready for the taxing physical requirements of lacrosse season.

“A lot of work was done prior to the season,” Coppell senior defender/midfielder Ryan O’Toole said. “Individually, I worked out on my own, and most of the team went to the optional fall workouts.”

With the exception of sophomore goalie Sam Taylor and freshman goalie Blu Carter, the Cowboys are comprised of 23 upperclassmen, which helps the bond between the players. The seasoned team opens against a team more fit than others, according to O’Toole.

“Kingwood is a physical team, but we’re confident in our abilities to win.” O’Toole said.
