After a 42-33 loss to Irving MacArthur in its first District 6-6A game on Friday, the Coppell girls basketball team plays Hebron tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. in the CHS Arena.

The Cowgirls (10-6) enter district play after placing fourth at the Hays Classic Tournament in Austin and with valuable experience.

“In the beginning, we really struggled because it was a big group and there are a lot of freshmen and new people, so it was kind of difficult to gel together,” Coppell junior guard Emma Sherrer said. “Now, I feel like we’re definitely in a groove after we came back from the Austin tournament.”

Hebron enters with a 12-5 record.

“We’re working on the little things, like making sure that we’re working well together,” Sherrer said. “Hebron is one of the better teams in our district and I know we almost beat them last year, in the second round of district, and that was really big for us.”
