City honoring veterans with wreath laying ceremony

Amidst the spirit of giving, citizens of Coppell are dedicating time to remembering and honoring fallen veterans.

Tomorrow, the City of Coppell will host a wreath laying ceremony from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Rolling Oaks Memorial Center. The ceremony is a part of the Wreaths Across America organization and will occur in conjunction with 1,600 ceremonies across the nation. Organized by the Coppell Republican Women club, the service will honor all veterans buried at Rolling Oaks.

The event is open to the public.

The CRW organizes the event annually, raising funds to purchase the wreaths. This year, wreaths will be placed to honor each branch of the military in addition to individual veterans. By laying wreaths, the WAA intends to remember the veterans, honor their sacrifices and teach children the value of freedom.
