St. Ann’s Carnival rained out

By Allie Perison
Editor in Chief

Last weekend I was looking forward to taking part in my last St. Ann’s Carnival. I had planned to hold on to my last bit of youth with my best friends. Unfortunately, my plan was washed away by the rainy weather.

Being a senior, I hold every event to a more sentimental standard. It’s as though memories mean more now that I am aware they may be my last.

This would have been my last year to attend the St. Ann’s Carnival, because, like I said, next year I will be off at college. My mind kept flashing back to years before when I had attended.

The carnival still went on at random hours when the rain let up a little, but it was just not the same. A wet Octopus did seem appealing and a flooded Tea Cup ride was less than appealing.

Personally, I feel that the Carnival should have been rescheduled, but obviously I don’t make the rules. Since the event usually brings in such a large amount of money, I can’t imagine the loss St. Ann’s experienced this year. Renting all of those rides can’t be cheap.

I drove by multiple times to see if the carnival was in action, but instead it looked dead. The usual flashing lights had dimmed and the spinning ferris wheel had come to a depressing halt.

As I drove to my house today, my last memory of the St. Ann’s Carnival was made. I drove by to see packed up rides and suddenly it was just a faded memory.
