“I just moved here from Mexico City a month ago. Leaving the country where I grew up was one of the hardest things I ever did. All of my friends and family are there, but definitely what I missed the most is my lifestyle. Thanks to my dad’s work they gave him the opportunity to move here a year before I arrived so I stayed in Mexico with my mom and sister. It was hard to live without my dad a whole year but now I’m happy to be with him again and now we finally are going to recover all the year we lost together as a family. I’m proud of being Mexican because recently with the massive earthquake I felt so powerless since I wasn’t there to help but seeing all my community working so hard so Mexico can be what it was make me feel so proud,” sophomore Sofia Sanz said.
