With Valentine’s Day still fresh in people’s minds, the Coppell Cowboys and Cowgirls golf teams are hosting their first Sweetheart Run tomorrow at Andy Brown Park East.

All proceeds from the Sweetheart Run, featuring a USA Track & Field certified 5K and one-mile Fun Run, will benefit CHS golf teams in order to participate in local, regional and state tournaments.

The Fun Run begins at 8:30 a.m. and the 5K starts at 9 a.m.

“We hope to raise funds for the golf teams, so they will be able to participate in tournaments, and we hope to accomplish a positive community event that will help put the golf teams’ presence and name out in the community,” CHS Golf Team Booster Club Board Member Tara Catlin said.

Participants in the Sweetheart Run may pick up a packet for their race number tomorrow from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. at Andy Brown Park East.

Awards will be given out to overall male and female winners as well as first, second and third place male & female in standard five-year age group breakdowns.

Water, fruit and snacks will be provided for all participants. To sign up, people may visit their registration website.
