Cody Masters likes to make big plays.
In a September football game against McKinney Boyd, the junior outside linebacker picked up a fumble and ran to score, breaking the game wide open in a 34-14 win against the Broncos.
In the baseball diamond, the outfielder took the first pitch of the game from a Richland pitcher and smacked it over the fence in a dominating 10-3 win on April 8 for the Cowboys.
With 60 total tackles on the football season and a team-leading five home runs so far for the Cowboys baseball team, it is safe to say that Masters is a high level producer for each of the teams he plays for.
“It’s actually funny because going into this past summer, which is a big time to get recruited, I was thinking about quitting and focusing on football,” Masters said. “I then gave everything I got and worked hard and it turned out that I’m now having a good season. It’s funny how things worked out.”
Masters, now a Texas Tech baseball commit, has proven his place on the gridiron and the diamond.
Congratulations to The Sidekick’s Most Improved Player, Cody Masters.
