With the Southlake Carroll vs Coppell football game set to take place this Friday, some students feel the rivalry between the schools is worth the hype while others find it to be just another game.

For some, the rivalry with the Dragons of the is the only motivation they need.

“I’m going because I want to see them (Southlake Carroll) lose,” CHS senior Lauge Pederson said.

Others find the rivalry to be a healthy part of the school spirit and are excited for the game.

“I don’t usually make football games but I’m making an exception for the Southlake game,” CHS junior Wesley Viera said. “It’s really fun since we’re both very competitive and talented schools.”

Loyalty to CHS is also an attracting factor.

“I’m going because I’m trying to support the team, this is a huge rivalry,” CHS sophomore Alan Huerta said. “This is the game I have to go to.”

Finally, there are the students who believe the rivalry is not a valid reason to go.

“We are raising a society to hate the [Southlake Carroll Dragons], for no reason except for football,” CHS senior Savannah Bekkers said.

Whether you hate or love the rivalry, most everyone will be coming out to Buddy Echols Field on Friday to see who will come out as the winner.
