HOSA began the school year with its first meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 9 in the library. HOSA, or Health Occupation Students of America, educates individuals interested in pursuing a career in the health industry and further enhances their knowledge of medical studies. The club participates in local, state and national competitions to provide the best opportunities for students to strive. Additionally, HOSA introduces many health-related volunteer activities for students to influence the society.
HOSA President and senior Suwetha Amsavelu discussed the general aspects of the club along with dues and upcoming events, such as the Autism Walk and the White Rock Marathon this semester with various others next year.
The $40 covers all competition fees to nationals and the T-shirt. The national competition is at Disney World this year.
