Introduction into Buffy

As a rule, I’m interested in anything Josh Whedon related, Firefly, Dr. Horrible’s Sing A-Long Blog, even Dollhouse. However, for the longest time I avoided Buffy: The Vampire Slayer which was his first TV series. For a multitude of reasons, but mainly because it just seemed like another cheesy fantasy show. It is not. Buffy: The Vampire Slayer is many things including a high school drama, distillation on destiny, and an awesome action showcase. No hyperbole, it’s probably one of the best television shows of the deacde.

Buffy: The Vampire Slayer starts out with us meeting Buffy( Sarah Michelle Gellar) at her house as she wakes up from a dream (wherein an old vampire the master announces his return) and goes to Sunnyvale High School. There she meets her friends Willow ( Alyson Hannigan) and Xander ( Nicholas Brendon), stuff goes wrong almost immediately. With a dead body found in the girl’s locker room. It goes from teenage drama to horror very quickly, with hilarious dialogue through out. It’s a great show and I’m glad I watched it.
