The Great Gatsby craze dies down

By Tolu Salako

Staff Writer

As of last week, The Great Gatsby, was all students could talk about after the premiere of Iron Man 3. Students were excited to see one of their favorite school novels being adapted into a motion picture. However, word spread around quickly that Gatsby, would not quite reach their expectations.

“I couldn’t help but be a little bit bummed when I read the reviews for Gatsby,”  junior Eric Trevino said. “I plan on seeing it tonight, but I know that I won’t be too impressed.”

The majority of the reviews have been consisted of how it “lacks depth” and how the “plot is weak,” due to the director’s concentration on the visuals.

It is sad to see that such a highly anticipated movie may flop and may not meet the expectations of many teenage fans.
