New regulations for off-premises signs effective May 1

By Kimberly Del Angel
Entertainment Editor

Driving around the City of Coppell, the everyday citizen is bound to see an abundance of signs offering diverse advertisements for many of the organizations/events that the city holds regularly. However, if you are interested in posting one of these signs around town, be warned, effective this upcoming Wednesday, new rules will be enforced for all temporary off-premises signs.

In order to to promote safety of persons and property, the city will keep an even more vigilant eye over the placement and duration of temporary signs so that they do not become a hazard or obstruct fire/police surveillance, as well as impose traffic hazards. The City of Coppell also strives to promote efficient transfer of information without the overwhelming number of public messages, while preserving the appearance and economic property value.
