As it is their first year assembled as a choir, Respira, an all girl show choir, will be hosting their first concert at the Coppell High School at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, April 19 in the auditorium.
Having competed at the UIL concert in Duncanville and in Branson, Mo. the group of sophomore to senior girls have been working hard to prepare. The choir consists of singing and dancing and throughout the year, and in order to hone in their skills, required rehearsals were on Monday and Thursdays.
“It is really cool because we were [the first group]; we got to make it our own,” Respira choir member Priya Desai said. “We set the standards for the group because there was no restrictions.”
At the concert the girls will feature songs such as “Stronger” by Britney Spears and “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” by Cyndi Lauper. Admission to the concert is free.
