By Alex Irizarry Staff Writer The Coppell City Council has declared that the week of March 3rd through 9th is Severe Weather Awareness Week in an attempt to encourage citizens to prepare for any severe weather and also educate them on proper safety strategies.
The goal for the city and the Coppell Fire Department Office of Emergency Management is for citizens to be fully aware of the dangerous weather that can and will hit Coppell throughout the duration of the year. In the wake of all the natural disasters that have occurred these past few years, especially Hurricanes Sandy and Isaac, being prepared for any and all possibilities isn’t such a bad idea.
You can check out a list the Emergency Management department has compiled of severe weather events, other potential hazard, and strategies to prepare for these events before they happen here.
