JWAC T-shirts to support Children International

Bake sales, car washes, garage sales, and races are all common ways to raise money, but one of the more popular and effective methods in Coppell is to sell T-shirts, and Junior World Affairs Council has taken selling shirts as a way not only to help the club, but others all around the world.

Hundreds of T-shirts are made and sold each year in Coppell for various different reasons likes sports, clubs, and theater, but JWAC is using them to support the charity Children International.

This group works to help children all over the world who are stricken by poverty and unsafe living conditions. The goal is to use money to invest in their potential by helping them with their education and prepare them to grow up able to contribute to society.

The program is simple, a family or an organization can adopt a child and by doing so they make monthly donations which go to funds for their healthcare, education, and access to youth programs designed to get them out of poverty and create successful young adults.

JWAC is selling these shirts in the cafeteria through tomorrow. The cost is $15 for non-members and $8 for members.

“We do this ever year for members, but we thought we would extend it to the school this year to help raise more money,” Spandana Mudhaliar, president of JWAC, said.
