After a few years of an extended “half-day” released at 2:30 pm, CHS will be released at 11:30 on Friday, Dec. 21. Students will attend all seven classes, each with 22 minute periods and six minute passing periods. The initial reason we had the 2:30 release was a student jaywalked on Denton Tap Rd. after eating at Sonic on an early release day. She was hit by a car, and later died in a coma. The early release schedule was then changed to 2:30 to avoid lunch hour traffic. But on this Friday, we revert back to the old schedule, and CHS will go on its holiday break mere minutes before any other school in the district.
