Dallas Cowboys go to Philadelphia to prove themselves

    Rebecca Neumann

    Staff Writer

With the top NFC East spot on the line, it’s going to take a lot for the Dallas Cowboys to pull off a win on Sunday.

As we all know, the Eagles like to play tough. Take the Cowboys last meeting with them as proof. They lost 44-6, a devastating end to the season. But now—and even though no one has said it—the team is out for revenge.

However, it’s going to take a lot of effort and luck for America’s Team to defeat the 5-2 Eagles. Last week, the Eagles crushed the Giants 40-17. Merely considering the Cowboys lost to the Giants in Week 2, you could say they wouldn’t have a chance against Philadelphia, but taking a close look, you can see that there are many factors that have changed in the teams since the beginning of the season.

Firstly, Eli Manning is not playing up to his usual standard with the Giants. Secondly, the Eagles have lost and then regained Donavon McNabb. Lastly, the Cowboys have adjusted to Tony Romo and have begun giving him more receivers. He hasn’t thrown an interception in his last 13 quarters, so it seems like the stars are beginning to align for the team.

It all comes down to Sunday. If the Cowboys win, it would mean an amazing standing in the division and the knowledge that they can compete with a high quality team. If not, well, it’s time to change something again.
