Cowboys to black-out Eagles Friday night

Julianne Cauley

After all the hype of the Tom Landry Classic on Labor Day weekend, the Coppell Cowboy defense shutdown the Longview Lobos and led the team to a 41-8 victory. Since then the Cowboys have extended their perfect record to 4-0 -defeating McKinney Boyd (31-6), Rockwall (40-3) and Garland (35-14).

This Friday night, Coppell takes on Allen at Buddy Echols Stadium at 7:30. This is a huge match up for both teams as the Eagles are ranked No.2 in the state and the Cowboys No. 9 according to AP Rankings.

Due to the huge crowd expected for this battle of undefeated state ranked teams and the volleyball game against Marcus in the CHS gym, fans are advised to come early and to carpool. The parking lot is first come, first serve as always and is expected to be full that night. If needed, parking will be allowed to overflow at Town Center Elementary and Andy Brown West.

Tickets remain on sale tomorrow from 8 a.m. to  4 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Field House. Tickets cost $6 for adults, $4 for students and $8 for all at the gate Friday.

If you will be supporting the Cowboys Friday night, you are encouraged to wear black clothing to black-out the stands. At school, students can wear pajama bottoms as the second period pep rally theme is “Allen’s Worst Nightmare.”

If you cannot make it to the game, you can follow @SidekickSports on Twitter for play-by-play and score updates.
