Class officer race crosses finish line

By Kristen Shepard
Staff Writer

After several weeks of intense competition and campaigning, the class officers for the 2012-2013 have been announced. Elections were especially competitive this year, with multiple candidates running for each position, tensions were high as the voting ballots went out to the students on Monday.

Several candidates attempted to gain votes through several interesting methods ranging from Facebook campaigns to guaranteeing donut holes to voters. One unnamed incoming Junior even offered to conduct a raffle for any students who submitted a photo of his/her ballot after voting for the candidate.Even more interesting were the speeches these candidates performed, standouts being incoming seniors Daniel Lian with a rap and Will Seitz with a comparison to household objects. All candidates showed passion and drive for their positions, contributing to the intensity of this year’s race. Results are as followed:

Upcoming Juniors:
Secretary: Brandy Sun
Treasurer: Mikki Hoffman
Historian:Natalie Hinson
Vice President: Endre Wagner
President: Kilian Bresnahan

Upcoming Seniors:
Secretary: Jen Olson
Treasurer: Austin Flores
Historian: Katie Kennedy
Vice President: Will Seitz
President: Natalie Oden

Be sure to congratulate these winners on their success and prepare for an exciting 2012-2013 school year with such strong leadership.
