After just over a year, professional basketball player Lamar Odom has left the Dallas Mavericks.
After Mark Cuban and Donnie Nelson acquired Odom from the Los Angeles Lakers in 2011, the Mavericks were sure they were bringing in a champion. Odom’s 13-year history, physical physique and widespread recognition made Cuban feel sure the trade was nothing short of a good deal.
But Odom’s performance seemed grim from the start of the season. Mentally and physically, it was evident that Odom was not all there, leading to underperformance and concern from the Mavericks franchise.
After both sides came to an agreement, it was announced on Monday that Lamar Odom will no longer play on the Dallas Mavericks and will be listed as inactive for the remainder of the NBA season.
