Last Tuesday, October 20th, was the anniversary of the birth of Báb, one of the central figures of the Bahá’í Faith. This uncommon religious is practiced mainly in the Middle East and is only a few centuries old. There are an estimated 5 to 6 million followers worldwide, spanning nearly 200 countries.
Báb began his life under the name Siyyid `Alí Muḥammad Shírází in 1819. By his 30th birthday, he had begun a new world religious that emphasized the spiritual humanity of all mankind. He died at 31 years old when executed by a firing squad for political and religious regions.
