In 2007, Paramount Pictures released the supernatural horror film Paranormal Activity. The movie received a positive reaction from both critics and people who watched the film. Following the success of the first film, Paramount released Paranormal Activity 2 in 2010, which received mostly mixed reviews. Paranormal Activity 3 will be released this Friday, October 21.

The Paranormal Activity series is presented as “found footage”. The first movie follows a young couple, Katie and Micah, who are haunted by a supernatural demon in their house. Paranormal Activity 2 is a parallel prequel to the first movie, set two months before and following up with the events in depicted in the first movie and centers on Katie’s sister Kristi and her husband Dan. Paranormal Activity 3 goes even further in the past and is set in 1988, 18 years prior to the events of the first 2 movies.

Early reviews of the third film have been positive, with popular review site Rotten Tomatoes awarding the film an 85% “fresh” rating of the film. The film will be premiering this Friday at midnight at Cinemark Vista Ridge, AMC Grapevine Mills and many other nearby theaters. For tickets and times click here.
