Most people have accomplishments in life, but behind those achievements is someone who has inspired them or impacted them in some form.
For me, that person is my mom, Anagha Medicharla.
I spend most of my time with my mother. From my childhood until now, she has looked after me and supported every part of my life.
Growing up with such an encouraging woman, I have developed a few characteristics from her — one being independence. My mother has always stood up for herself, never allowing others to hold her back. Many of her accomplishments have been achieved on her own. Watching her navigate through obstacles with confidence has been my source of inspiration. By learning from her, I know I can grow into the best version of myself.
My favorite memories with my mom are when we laugh about the most random things. No matter how fast time passes, we can bring up the same topic again and again, yet time would go even faster.
I saw a YouTube video and one of the comments said, “you never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory,” and it stuck with me. I will always cherish these moments with my mom because our strong bond is what keeps me motivated in life.
So, for Women’s History Month, let’s take this time and learn and embrace all the important women that have helped us evolve into a strong individual. Let’s celebrate their impact by carrying their values forward. This month is not only to honor the past, but to also recognize the present.
So, to my mom, my best friend, thank you for everything. You have reminded me no matter how hard things are, you will always be by my side. I am grateful to have you as my mom, and I hope to make you proud as I continue to grow and learn from you. Just know that you will always be more than enough and I aspire to be like you when I grow up.
