Nearing the end of a dominant season, the Coppell boys soccer team finds itself the champion of District 5-6A, the first district title in nine years.
Coppell plays Flower Mound on Friday night at 7:30 p.m. at Buddy Echols Field.
The Cowboys remain undefeated and have previously emerged victorious 1-0 over Flower Mound in district. Flower Mound currently sits last in District 5-6A.
Although Coppell has already secured the district title, it plans to approach the game with the same intensity as previous games by putting forth their best effort and keeping the opponent on edge.
“I always tell the boys we’re getting the best game. Nobody wants to play against us and be feeling less or weaker than their best,” Coppell coach Stephen Morris said.
With district play concluding, the Cowboys are shifting their focus to the playoffs, looking for the potential to make history once again.
“Being able to get some silverware and achieve another goal for us is very exciting for the boys,” Morris said.
